Dear Mission Partners,
I am about to leave for Abuja, Nigeria, for what will be the biggest of the 50 Mass Crusades CfaN is doing this year. I can’t wait to get there! But while I pack my bags again here in the USA, the work in Ethiopia continues unabated.
This past week, another two crusades took place there in Weliso and Bishoftu. These crusades were organized and carried out by Bootcamp-trained Evangelists Hannes Jakobi, Nicky Gladkov, Jennifer Gladkov, Polina Sagaydak and Eric Weaver. Every night, they write to me about what God is doing, and I want to share one of those letters with you. This is what Evangelist Jennifer Gladkov sent me on Night Two in Boshoftu:
“Dear Evangelist Kolenda
Tonight was an extraordinary night, and I know every night is unique, but tonight specifically, the team and I can testify that the Lord did something exceptional. Since arriving in Bishoftu, the team and I felt we were all being attacked with the spirit of fear. Whether it was a lingering feeling of dread that would not go away, demonic dreams, or even feeling as though someone was choking us in our sleep, we were getting attacked from all angles with fear.
It turns out that the city of Bishoftu is the witchcraft capital of Ethiopia. People come from all over Ethiopia once a year to make sacrifices and perform witchcraft rituals at the lake located here in the city. No wonder we were all getting attacked! We knew the Lord wanted to break the spirit of fear from these people. When we asked the local crusade director what specific thing we should pray over the people, he immediately said, “Please pray for fear to be broken.”
So tonight, as I stood on the stage as we were getting to burn the witchcraft barrels, I looked into the crowd of thousands of people standing before me, and I knew that there was so much expectation and excitement from the people. We did the countdown, and as we lit the barrels, the crowd erupted in praise and worship. I tell you, if we didn’t stop them, they could’ve danced and worshiped all night long. As I broke the curses, the people shouted with all their might, “Amen,” “Amen,” and “Amen!”
Tonight was a night of freedom. It was a night we will never forget.”
